Wheelchair Basketball – An exciting version of basketball that offers a great way to keep fit, develop new skills and meet new friends. RUBY (Rise up, Be Yourself) – A free physical fitness program for women who are, have been, or are likely to be experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). These programs are held in PCYCs across Townsville and are designed to empower women by building physical strength and contributing to general well-being, emotional resilience, self-esteem and confidence. Boccia – A bowling game similar to the Italian game of ‘bocce’ for players of all abilities including those with a physical disability. Goalball – An exciting team sport for athletes with a vision impairment and sighted players of all ages. Two teams of three blindfolded players throw a bell-ball toward their opponent’s goal using their body to protect their own goal.
