What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

In 2015 all United Nations member states adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. The agenda is built around 17 Sustainable Development Goals that recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and encourage economic growth, all while working to preserve our natural environments, above and below the sea, and tackling climate change.

At Towards Better, our work positively contributes to the below goals.

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

SDG #4

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

SDG #8

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

SDG #11

Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels

SDG #16
